GIA is committed to:
- Ensuring that all work performed by our employees, contractors, and partners is voluntary.
- Prohibiting the use of forced, bonded, indentured, or involuntary prison labour.
- Respecting the freedom of all individuals to leave employment or terminate contracts voluntarily, subject to lawful notice requirements.
2. Compliance with Laws
GIA complies with all applicable local and international labour laws, conventions, and regulations, including:
- The International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions, particularly Convention No. 29 on Forced Labour and Convention No. 105 on the Abolition of Forced Labour.
- National labour and employment laws in Cameroon and any other countries in which GIA operates.
3. Supply Chain Responsibility
GIA expects its suppliers, contractors, and business partners to share our commitment to ethical labour practices. We require that:
- Suppliers do not engage in forced labour or any form of modern slavery.
- Employees are free to terminate their employment without coercion or penalty.
- Proper documentation and monitoring procedures are in place to prevent forced labour.
GIA reserves the right to audit suppliers and business partners to ensure compliance with these standards.
4. Training and Awareness
GIA provides training and awareness programs for employees and contractors to ensure understanding of:
- Ethical labour practices
- Rights of workers
- How to report concerns regarding forced labour
5. Reporting Concerns
Employees, partners, or stakeholders who suspect violations of this policy are encouraged to report concerns immediately through GIA’s designated reporting channels at giaompliance@gmail.com. GIA ensures that all reports will be treated confidentially and without retaliation.
6. Continuous Improvement
GIA continuously reviews and improves its policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with anti-forced labour standards and to promote ethical, safe, and fair working conditions across all operations.
